My sweet hubby tried this smoothie and loved it so much that he felt it needed to be published. So here it is.
Note: I prefer to use all organic ingredients whenever possible. It is rather "fruitless" to consume healthy smoothies with fruits and veggies that are tainted with pesticides and who-knows-what else, AND genetically modified, to boot!
Also, it is best to use a high-powered blender such as a Vita-Mix or BlendTec when making smoothies. A standard one will work, but your smoothie won't be as creamy and will probably have chunks of unblended fruits and veggies in it.
Ingredients
1 banana
1 orange, peeled
1 juicy, tender, ripe peach, peeled and pitted
1 generous handful of red grapes
1 handful of baby carrots
2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach
1 TBSP of Hemp Hearts (optional)
1-2 cups of Coconut Water* depending on how thick or thin you want the consistency.
*Coconut water is available at natural markets, health food stores, and our Kroger carries it in the Natural Food section. Check your local grocer to see if they carry it. Enjoy!
P.S. Wow, fall is just TEN DAYS away! When did that happen?!!
